Ever since the demand of the crude oil has grown in the United States of America, the country and its politicians have totally concentrated on the ways and means to increase the per day production of the crude oil that is being produced in the country presently. It is with this idea that the US government and the oil exploration teams across the US have started to concentrate and explore the possibilities of oil drilling in the state of Alaska, which comprises the areas near the Artic circle.

Though this place is quite adjacent to the Artic National Wildlife area and had been way back in 1960 been marked as a wildlife sanctuary, still the US government senate in the year 2006 passed a resolution to lease this area for oil drilling. This was following the reports by the oil drilling and the exploration companies within the US, that this area is very rich in crude oil deposits which had been left untapped for millions of years.

This report has given a very good momentum to the oil exploring companies as well as the US senate, to throw open this area for lease to the oil drilling companies so as to exploit and harness the hidden resources in the areas that are adjacent to the Artic National area. This area which runs into several million acres could very well become the future of the US economies oil needs and the oil drilling companies could very well profit from the huge potentialities of finding huge crude oil deposits here. There are numerous oil wells and gas wells across the world and several best producing oil wells for sale are listed here.

It is estimated by some oil drilling and exploring companies that, this area contains approximately seven to eight billion barrels of crude oil. This report has given a major boost to the energy experts and also the economists of the country to rather force the US senate to pass a resolution to allow the lease of this land to the oil drilling companies in the US. Ever since this, the US government has already passed this resolution and started the lease of this land to the oil drilling companies, since it was projected that there will be an inflow of roughly 5 billion dollars within five years into the US treasury.

But the only obstacle that the US government is facing is from the environmental groups who are against the lease of this land to the oil drilling companies, for they are of the opinion that since this region is situated very close to the wildlife sanctuary, it can always pose a threat to the wildlife in that particular area. But still the huge oil reserve in this area if exploited could very well become the solution for the energy needs of the US citizens, for the present as well in the future. Hence the government has already passed the resolution for the lease of land for oil drilling in this sensitive area and more than 4 million acres of land has been leased out to the oil exploration companies. The US government has taken a very tough stance in this issue and is very sure that this is the only solution for satisfying the crude oil needs of the country.
